Danny graduated from Cambridge University in 2005. He spent his years as a junior doctor in the Eastern region, working in several district general hospitals and completing his training at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. He started working in urology from the first year after qualifying as a doctor, gaining the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Urology) in 2013.
He has also spent time in Paris with Professor Olivier Traxer, to enhance his skills as a kidney stone surgeon, which is his main surgical interest. His other interests include general and endoscopic urology, as well as diagnosis of prostate cancer and benign prostatic problems.
Danny is the lead for surgical clinical governance at Broomfield Hospital, and is also active in medical education for junior doctors.
He is a keen traveller and photographer, and has a passion for motoring and cooking. He grew up in French speaking countries and is bilingual with knowledge of several other languages too.
